Kung Pao Tofu

Kung Pao tofu is a tasty alternative to Kung Pao chicken. It is nutritious and can be made as spicy as needed. Very quick to make for one of those busy days.



Ingredients

1 pack of extra firm tofu
1 cup of chopped green onions
4 tsp Kung pao sauce
1 tsp rice vinegar
3 tsp black pepper sauce
1 tsp Soya sauce
2 tsp red chili sauce
1/2 cup raw peanuts
2 tsp sesame oil

Method

- Heat the oil until it smoke lightly
- Add the peanuts
- Cube the tofu into 2 by 2 inches
- Let it brown changing sides constantly
- Add the vinegar
- Add all the sauces and toss the tofu well
- Add the green onions and after a minute or two toss again

Serve hot with brown rice or jasmine rice

Wow!! :) I make a similar dish but find that i always burn myself when i put tofu in the oil straight.. I have been mixing soysauce hot sauce and a little oil and toasting it in the toaster on aluminum foil before sauteeing it.. looks delish.. i am on a diet right now but it doesnt help to look at the yumm dishes on your blog..

Always fry tofu in low flame to avoid burning. Vegetarian food is healthy :-)
